How to Connect with My Athlete's Coach

Establishing connections between coaches and students is an important part of setting up your account in Twirlmate. It helps event organizers avoid any conflicts of interest when generating a set system/performance schedule.

This guide assumes you've already gone through the steps of setting up your account and are looking to connect with a coach who joined Twirlmate after you did.

1. Find your coach

Visit the "People" page and search for your coach by their full name:

If you don't find them, they either haven't joined Twirlmate yet or their profile is set to "private." To display their profile on the "People" page, users must have their profile visibility set to "Twirlmate Users" or "Public". They can change this by logging in and updating their account settings.

  • "Twirlmate Users" visibility means only other logged-in Twirlmate users can see their profile.

  • "Public" visibility means anyone can see their profile, whether they're logged into Twirlmate or not.

2. Start a coach request

Click on your coach's profile. On their profile page, click the button to request them as a coach:

3. Select your athlete and submit the coach request

On the coach request form page, select the athlete the request pertains to. You can also create a new athlete profile if you don't see your athlete's name as an option.

After you submit the form, the coach will be notified of the pending request. They can confirm it by visiting the Students page under their account.

And that's it! You've successfully sent a coach request in Twirlmate.
