How to Connect with My Students
Establishing connections between coaches and students is an important part of setting up your account in Twirlmate. It helps event organizers avoid any conflicts of interest when generating a set system/performance schedule.
If a parent has their own Twirlmate account and has created their athlete's profile under their name, connecting with the athlete is similar to sending a friend request on Facebook.
1. Select the "coach" role
First, ensure you have the "coach" role selected in your account settings:
Be sure to save your settings at the bottom of the page.
2. Add students
Then, visit the "Students" page and click the button to add a student:
A window will appear for you to search for students by their full name:
3. Wait for parent confirmation
After adding a student, they will appear in a "pending" state until the athlete's account manager (likely a parent) confirms the request:
To confirm the request, the parent must visit the Manage Accounts page, click on their athlete's name, and confirm the coach request on the athlete profile.
Another Way: Students Sending a Coach Request
If you'd prefer to have your students request you as their coach instead, set your profile visibility to "Twirlmate Users" or "Public" so that other users can find you on the "People" page.
Profiles set to "Twirlmate Users" will only be visible to other logged-in Twirlmate account holders. "Public" profiles will be visible to anyone, whether they're logged into Twirlmate or not:
Once your profile is featured on the People page, parents can send you a coach request on behalf of their athlete:
After they send the request, confirm the athlete as your student on the Students page:
