What's New in Twirlmate

Introducing the latest features and improvements for Twirlmate: a calendar view for upcoming events, external event links, and vendor profile FAQs!
Event Calendar View
The first thing anyone announces about an upcoming baton twirling event is…the date! So it’s important that this information be quick and easy to find. That’s why this past month I added a calendar view to the existing Events page:
Available for tablet and laptop/desktop devices, the calendar provides a month-based overview of all contests, camps, clinics, and classes listed in Twirlmate. Mobile users can still browse the same information via the original list view. If you find an event that interests you on the calendar, simply hover over the thumbnail image for it and click “view details”. You’ll be taken to its main page, which leads me to the next update…
External Event Links
Technology can be intimidating. I totally understand! So for people who aren’t quite ready to make the full leap to managing their entire event through Twirlmate, I’ve added a more beginner-friendly option. There’s now a way to list just the basic information about your event and then point people to external links where they can: 1) learn more about event, 2) register, and/or 3) download a brochure:
Maybe your event has its own website outside of Twirlmate. Or perhaps you’re using a 3rd party tool to manage registrations, like Google Forms, JotForm, Cognito Forms, etc. Or you might have a PDF entry that people should download, print, and mail in. Whatever your setup is, Twirlmate aims to accommodate you, and help drive prospective attendees to the desired place for registration and additional information.
Vendor FAQs
Baton twirling business owners, do you find yourself regularly answering similar questions from customers about your products or services? If so, Twirlmate now has you covered. I recently added the ability for vendors to create custom “frequently asked questions” related to their business:
Managed on the “My Business” page, FAQs can be arranged in any order, as well as published and unpublished for easy editing. They’re a great way to answer common questions about product sizes, shipping and return policies, or anything else you’d like customers to know.
Coming Soon
Win tracking! For parents and coaches, keeping a record of how many wins an athlete has in each event is an important but tedious task. To help consolidate and streamline things as much as possible, I’m creating a space for people to do this in Twirlmate. And as more contests start leveraging Twirlmate to store results, eventually win-tracking will be automatic. Stay tuned for progress updates!
