What You'll Do

  • Generate value for members of the baton twirling community by producing high-quality articles are authentic, entertaining, and educational.

  • Learn best practices for writing both short- and long-form copy and apply them to Twirlmate's blog

  • Use your voice and perspective on baton twirling to celebrate members of the community and their stories

  • Collaborate with Twirlmate leadership and fellow interns to develop a cohesive twirling-focused brand identity

  • Build Twirlmate's eNewlsetter following


Who We Are

Twirlmate is your partner in baton twirling events, groups, analytics and resources. Our mission is to grow the sport of baton twirling by celebrating all organizations. We also seek to support all members of the twirling community: athletes, parents, coaches, judges, vendors, and organization administrators.


Responsibilities

  • Spend 2-3 hours/week generating, planning, researching, writing and editing articles for Twirlmate's blog

  • Educate Twirlmate users and prospective customers about the platform's features, products, and services

  • Network with other bloggers, experts, or other notable guests to contribute content

  • Establish a blog content calendar and publish posts to Twirlmate accordingly

  • Monitor responses to posts via the website, social media, or other platforms to better understand the audience

  • Stay current on baton twirling trends/topics for possible opportunities to attract new readers or create stronger, more engaging content


Required Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of baton twirling and at least one of Twirlmate's core audiences (athletes, coaches, parents, judges, etc)

  • Strong writing experience

  • Exceptional research and communication skills

  • Creativity and adaptability

Compensation

This position is unpaid. However, it presents a unique opportunity to combine your professional interests with your passion for baton twirling.
